Damascus, SANA – President Bashar al-Assad issued on Wednesday Law no. 14 for 2016 on the possibility of cancelling a decision that provides for terminating the employment of state workers who do not join mandatory conscription or reserve service based on a decision by the Prime Minister upon the suggestion of the Minister of Defense and the minister concerned.
The law states that should the worker join service within 30 days of receiving the notice of employment termination or resolve their military service status, they will be placed on special leave- without pay in the case of mandatory conscription and with pay in the case of reserve service- for the period of absence from the day of enlistment in the military service until they are discharged, and they receive all the benefits that workers who are enlisted receive normally.
