The People’s Assembly approves a number of bills

Damascus, SANA – The People’s Assembly approved a bill extending Legislative Decree no. 28 for 2013 that allows the Supreme Judicial Council to transfer lawsuits from one court to another upon the request of the Minister of Justice under exceptional circumstances.

During a session on Thursday chaired by Speaker Hadiyeh Abbas, the Assembly also approved a bill on cancelling a decision that provides for terminating the employment of state workers who do not join mandatory conscription or reserve service.

The new law states that should the worker join service within 30 days of receiving the notice of employment termination or resolve their military service status, they will be placed on special leave either with or without pay depending on their status for the period of absence from the day of enlistment in the military service until they are discharged, and they receive all the benefits that workers who are enlisted receive normally.

Another bill amending Article 167 of Legislative Decree no. 61 for 1950 on the Law of military penalties and rules of trials was also approved during today’s session.
