Geneva, SANA- UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura announced on Thursday that the upcoming round of Syrian- Syrian dialogue in Geneva will start on April 13th.
De Mistura said at a press conference “I will visit Damascus and Tehran and communicate with all parties and partners during a specific time as next round of talks is expected to begin on April 13”.
He pointed out that he heard important ideas from Russia during his visit to Moscow and he works to approximate among points of view, adding that the visits and meetings that will be held with the effective sides in the region aim at ” finding an understanding and international framework on a political transition in Syria, but, the Syrians are the only ones who decide this.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called on de Mistura, who was on a visit to Moscow on Tuesday, to unite efforts of external players to help push the Syrian-Syrian dialogue, noting that Russia and the United States are committed to support this dialogue.
