Demirtas: Erdogan’s policy in Syria dangerous and failed

Ankara, Syria – Turkish President Recep Erdogan supports all terrorist organizations in Syria including ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham to realize his Ottoman dreams, an opposition party leader in Turkey said.

Selahattin Demirtas, leader of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), told his party’s parliamentary bloc in a meeting on Tuesday that Erdogan did not hesitate to establish all secret and public relations with all terrorist groups in Syria with the aim to destroy it and displace its people.

He went on saying that Erdogan and his premier Ahmet Davutoglu are the enemies of Islam and humanity, and their hands are stained with the Syrians’ blood.

Earlier in March, Demirtas uncovered that leaders of the terrorist organizations in Syria meet in Ankara under the protection of the Turkish regime which train and arm terrorists in the city of Urfa, while Erdogan’s ruling party of Justice and Development (AKP) does not hesitate to form militias to perpetrate terrorist activities in Syria and the Region, even inside Turkey against the Kurds and all the country’s opponents.

Demirtas focused on the issue of weapon-loaded trucks which were bringing weapons to the terrorist organizations, saying that what was uncovered then is a very small number, while in fact the number of trucks exceeds thousands that have brought weapons and all equipment for terrorists into Syria since the beginning of the crisis.

Erdogan’s policies in Syria are dangerous and failed, Demirtas affirmed, making it clear that those dangerous and failed policies have reflected negatively on Turkey where Erdogan tries to cover them with establishing a dictatorship regime to prevent the opposition from criticizing him over his policies towards Syria and his relations with the terrorist organizations.

According to many Turkish politicians and intellectuals, the Turkish regime under Erdogan is the main threat to Turkey and the region due to Erdogan’s policies of supporting terrorism and opening borders for takfiri mercenaries to flow into Syria with weapon-loaded trucks as well as hosting training camps for terrorists.
