Damascus, SANA – Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban said that Russia is rendering a service to Europe by fighting terrorist organizations in Syria, because these terrorists constitute a threat to everyone and to Europe in particular.
In an interview given to BBC on Friday evening, Shaaban said the Russian Aerospace Forces targeted terrorists’ oil convoys and destroyed them, while the supposed Washington-led international alliance never targeted any of the oil tankers smuggled from Syria to Turkey and then to Europe.
She voiced belief that history will remember Russia’s monumental effort in the war against terrorism not just for the sake of peace of Syria, but also for the sake of peace in Europe and the world.
Shaaban asserted that what happened in Syria sought to destroy it and its people, not to make it a better place for Syrians or to make reforms, in reference to the propaganda campaigns against Syria.
