8 breaches of cessation of combat activities during past 24 hours

Lattakia, SANA – A total of 8 breaches of the cessation of combat activities in Syria have been monitored during the past 24 hours by the Russian Center for Coordination based in Hmeimem Airport.

This raises the total number of breaches so far to 127 since the cessation of combat activities was put into effect on February 27 as per the Russian-American agreement adopted by the UN Security Council in its resolution no. 2268.

The Center said in a statement on Friday that gunmen from “Liwa’a al-Sultan Murad” and “Ahrar al-Cham” organizations fired mortar rounds 3 times at sites for the Kurdish protection units in al-Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo city, in addition to attacking Ein Daqna village with makeshift cannons.

The Center also said that armed groups attacked the town of Kanasba 60 km northeast of Lattakia city using rockets.

On a relevant note, the Center asserted that the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian Air Force aircrafts have not carried out any airstrikes against armed groups that had declared their joining of the cessation of hostilities, adding that preliminary agreements for reconciliations were reached with dignitaries from two towns in Hama province, while communication is ongoing with the leaders of 3 armed groups in Aleppo city.
