Zahret Halab.. Tunisian film shows different perspective of war in Syria

Damascus, SANA – Zahret Halab (Rose of Aleppo), a new film by the Tunisian director Ridha Behi, tackles the humanitarian repercussions  of the war on Syria.

The film tells the story of a Tunisian mother’s hard and humanitarian journey to Syria where her son joined terrorists and to bring him back home.

It conveys a humanitarian message, not a political one, and reveals how war changes the lives of people regardless of their identity. The film condemns the war itself since it destroys everyone.

Based on true stories derived from the reality of the Arab States after the so-called “Arab Spring”, the film sheds light on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization and terrorism in general.

Salma, the main character played by the renowned actress Hend Sabry, belongs to an ordinary family which, like all families, has its own problems and dreams. She used to have an ordinary life. She falls in loves, goes mad, gets married and breaks up before war comes and destroys all dreams, ambitions and problems.

Syrian and Tunisian movie stars took part in the movie which was filmed in Tunisia and Lebanon.
