Moscow: Ki-Moon involved in a media campaign to defame Russia’s role against terrorism

Moscow, SANA- Spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said on Monday that UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has found himself involved, deliberately or not deliberately, in the media campaign launched by foreign press outlets to defame Russia’s role in the crisis in Syria and its air process against terrorism.

“Ki-Moon should be objective and fair… and this didn’t happen when he talked at London conference or when he gave a speech to Financial Times,” Zakharova said in a statement.

Ban-Ki Moon, in his speech, held Russia responsible for “the failure of Syrian-Syrian talks in Geneva and the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Syria.”

She added “All know that the extremist opposition, supported by foreign sides, is the one that proposed unacceptable pre-conditions in Geneva in contrary to the delegation of Syrian Arab Republic and national opposition.”

Ki-Moon also claimed the Russian air process in Syria “had a very negative effect on the indirect dialogue.”
