Damascus, ,SANA-Ali Akbar Velayati, Senior Advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader affirmed on Sunday that it is not possible to talk about a dialogue concerning terrorists before all gunmen abandon their weapons.
“If the Scenario of Geneva is repeated in Vienna meetings, the political track on the crisis in Syria will fail,” Velayati told al-Mayadeen TV.
He described President Bashar al-Assad as ‘a steadfast hero who has defended his people for 5 years.”
Velayati added that future of the region is linked to the Syrian, Russian and Iranian cooperation, hoping this cooperation would achieve peace.
He said that downing the Russian warplane over the Syrian lands will never serve interests of the region and “we want the halt of escalation.”
President Bashar al-Assad received on Sunday Velayati and Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian and the accompanying delegation.
