Shaaban meets a delegation from Defending Syria Body in Sweden and members of Damascus Network Trust

Damascus, SANA – Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban stressed that Syria is going ahead with its battle against terrorism.

The world has now realized that Syria was right when it warned that terrorism has no borders and would pose a threat to the entire region and the world, said Shaaban during a meeting with a delegation from the Defending Syria Body in Sweden.

She added that the Western media propaganda that carried on throughout the years of the crisis to mar Syria’s image and create justifications for waging the terrorist war against it has now been exposed.

For his part, George Maqdisi Elias, head of the Defending Syria Body that was established in 2012, said the Body will act as a bridge to convey the true image of the events in Syria to the Swedish public opinion.

He noted that the Body has contributed to the efforts to provide humanitarian and financial aid to the people affected by the war on Syria, in addition to its contribution to energy and industrial project plans and providing funds whenever its representatives made visits to Syria.

Hussein Dawood of the Body’s Media Committee said the visit to Syria aims at trying to have a firsthand experience with what is going on there so that to convey the truth to the public opinion back in Sweden.

Shaaban: Misleading media  campaigns played dangerous role in the war against Syria

Later, Shaaban  said that Misleading media  campaigns have played a dangerous role in the war against Syria and overthrew the so-called “Free media” in the West.

“Terrorism poses threat to the whole world… Syria has repeatedly tried during the last 5 years to stress that what it has confronted was a terrorism that ravages the region and it could ravage the world if the latter didn’t stand by Syria against terrorism,” Shaaban said during a meeting with members of Damascus International Network Trust (Media Men against Terrorism) in its first constituent meeting.

She added that time has come for the world to take a serious stance against terrorism, adding “Syria’s sovereignty is at top priority.”

Shaaban called on the Network to put a strategic plan and have access to internet with more than a language to be in contact with nations of the world.
