Damascus, SANA – Electricity Ministry said Monday that power generating stations in the southern area have stopped due to fuel supply cutoff after armed terrorist groups sabotaged the gas pipeline feeding the area to the east of Jairoud in Damascus Countryside.
The Ministry said in a statement that the power stations breakdown led to increasing electricity rationing hours in the southern area, adding that the Ministry technical teams are fixing the damage so that the problem would be solved soon.
Power stations and pipelines transferring gas and other oil derivatives are a tempting target for the terrorists who have repetitively attacked them in the framework of their systematic sabotage of infrastructure.
