National Collegiate Programming Contest finals held in Lattakia

Lattakia, SANA – The 5th official national finals of the Collegiate Programming Contest are taking place on Thursday.

57 teams from 12 Syrian universities, three non-official teams, two from the National Center for Distinguished Students and one from the Syrian Olympiad in Informatics, are taking part in the contest, organized by Syrian Computer Society and Lattakia-based Tishreen University.

Dr. Abbas Abdulrahman, Head of Administrative Lattakia branch of the Syrian Computer Society, said the participant teams are ready for the finals after they went through qualifiers at their universities.

He noted that the contest involves a large number of students who are participating for the first time.

The results will be announced later in the evening in a ceremony, where the winners will be honored and the nine teams to represent Syria in the regional finals due to be held in Egypt next month will be named.
