Syria, Iraq discuss security coordination

Baghdad, SANA Iraqi Interior Minister Mohammed Salem al-Ghabban discussed with Syria’s Ambassador in Baghdad Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah means of developing bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, particularly enhancing security coordination.

The Iraqi Interior Ministry said in a statement that it was agreed during the meeting on the need of activating the joint understandings between Syria and Iraq in light of the standing challenges and on exchanging information.

Both sides discussed the importance of regional cooperation in combating terrorism.

The Syrian Ambassador stressed that the meeting came in the framework of continued consultation between Syria and Iraq on all levels.
He noted in a statement to SANA correspondent that opening wide prospects for coordination between Syria and Iraq is no longer a technical need imposed by the necessity of joint confrontation of terrorism, but it has become an Iraqi popular demand to come to eliminating the terrorist gangs as soon as possible.
