Swimmer Barazi qualified for Olympic Games of Rio de Janeiro in 2016

Moscow, SANA- The Syrian national swimming team ranked high in the FINA World Championship hosted by the Russian city of Kazan over the past two weeks.

Syrian swimmer Ziad Barazi was qualified for the Olympic Games to be held in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Syria is participating in the championship with three swimmers, one in the long course swimming championship “Open Water Championship” and two other swimmers in the short course.

Coach of the national team Mohammad Mardili told SANA in Moscow that the goal behind Syria’s participation in this international championship is to qualify the Syrian swimmers for the Olympic Games to be held in Brazil.

For their parts, the swimmers affirmed determination to achieve high ranks in the international championships, despite of all difficult circumstances which Syria is passing through.
