Iranian FM… Crisis in Syria should be solved through dialogue and without preconditions

Kuwait, SANA- Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif asserted the necessity of solving the crisis in Syria through dialogue without preconditions and confronting the terrorist organizations in the region.

Zarif’s assertion came during meeting his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Sabah al-Khaled al-Hmad al-Sabah in his first regional trip which he began in Kuwait since Iran reached an agreement with world powers on the country’s nuclear program.

Zarif underlined the importance of reaching comprehensive solutions for the crisis in Syria with the participation of all the sides concerned without preconditions.

Iran is standing by the peoples of the region in fighting terrorism and extremism, Zarif said on sideline of the visit, adding that Iran and countries of the region face common challenges that require joint cooperation to confront them.

He pointed out the constant principles of Iran’s foreign policy that is keen on good-neighborliness and cooperation with other countries.

Our message, he added, for the countries of the region is to cooperate for facing the joint challenges because no country can cancel the role of any other country in the region.

Zarif affirmed his country’s readiness to cooperate with all the neighboring countries regardless of the false policies practiced previously by some of those countries.

“What is needed is not a change in Iranian policy, but a change in the policy of some countries that want conflict and war in this region,” Zarif insisted.

We hadn’t ever supported the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and al-Qaeda terrorist organizations, but we were facing such organizations and we had the main role in this confrontation, he clarified.

Zarif called on the countries of the region to solve their problems without foreign intervention in their internal affairs, asserting his country’s willingness to develop the bilateral and multilateral relations with the neighboring countries.
