Damascus, SANA – The Third oil painting forum concluded its activities on Monday with an exhibition at Damascus Citadel, showcasing works by 12 Syrian artists.
The forum, which was titled “Syria: The Bridge of Love” and which lasted 15 days, was organized by the Department of Fine Arts at the Culture Ministry.
Culture Minister Lubana Mshawweh gave a speech at the closing celebration and honored the participating participants, hoping that the works created in the forum and other events like it will be collected and displayed at the Modern Art Museum the Ministry is preparing to open soon.
Sawsan al-Zoubi, one of the participating artists, said she painted three collages of Damascus city in three different sizes during the forum, while artist Walid al-Agha made a painting combining Arabic, Latin, and Syriac letters in an expression of cultural fusion in Syria.
Artist Ghassan al-Sibahi elected to paint two works expressing human interaction in warm colors, while Sa’ed Salloum made two paintings expressing his thoughts on the current stage in Syria, and Yousef al-Bushi painted two collages showcasing Syrian heritage.
