Tartous Customs seize over 5 million Captagon pills

Tartous, SANA – Tartous Customs Directorate officers seized 5,025,000 pills of the narcotic Captagon (Fenethylline) which were intended for smuggling to Kuwait.

Director of Tartous Customs Louay al-Nabelsi said that the pills were hidden in 25 industrial-sized electric voltage regulators in a manner that couldn’t be detected by scanners, but the officer inspecting the regulators became suspicious by the manner in which the regulators were put together, so he opened them and found the drugs.

Al-Nabelsi said that investigations are underway to apprehend the people involved in this affair in coordination with the authorities at Tartous harbor and the narcotics department.
