Muscat, SANA- Syria’s national football team on Friday beat its Omani counterpart 2-1 in a friendly match held at al-Seeb Stadium in Muscat ahead of the joint qualifications of Russia World Cup 2018 and the 2019 Asian Cup of the United Arab Emirates.
Syrian player Odai Jafal scored first at the 7th minute of the match while the second goal was scored in the 17th minute by Omar Khraibin through a penalty.
Coach of the Syrian team Fajir Ibrahim underlined the importance of winning the match ahead of meeting Afghani team next Thursday within the joint qualifications of the World Cup and Asia Cup.
By winning the match, the Syrian team will improve its position in the standings of the FIFA in which it was placed at the 121st position internationally and at 15th position on the level of Asia.
On April 24th, the Syrian team tied with the Lebanese team 2-2 in a friendly match held at Saida Stadium, and last March, it played two friendly matches, the first of which beating Jordanian team 1-0 and the second beating Tajikistani 3-2.
