Damascus, SANA- Minister of State for Environment Affairs Nazira Sarkis suggested on Thursday that a draft memo of understanding in the field of environment and biodiversity protection be prepared jointly by Syria and Indonesia to enhance cooperation in the environmental sector.
Sarkis was speaking during her meeting with the Indonesian Ambassador in Damascus Djoko Harjanto.
She called for enhancing cooperation relations between both sides in forest management and combating air pollution.
For his part, Harjanto stressed the necessity of cooperation with the Syrian Environment Ministry in environment protection and preserving marine and coastal system, especially in light of Indonesia’s vast environmental experience.
