Dubai, SANA- Syria joined the UAE Declaration on Sustainable Agriculture, Resilient Food Systems at the Climate Action Summit COP28 held in Dubai.
The countries which signed the declaration pledged to double renewable energy and rate of the energy efficiency.
Speaking in statement at the sidelines of the summit, Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Hussein Makhlouf said the Syria was among the first countries to join the agreements on environment.
Makhlouf expressed hope that such agreements will be reflected in international cooperation regarding environmental issues, adding that Syria also hopes to benefit from adaptation and financing funds in the field of the environment.
