A civilian injured by a terrorist sniper at aid distribution center in Yarmouk Camp, Friday

Damascus, SANA A civilian was injured by a terrorist sniper fire on humanitarian aid distribution center at Palestine street in the besieged Yarmouk Camp in southern area of Damascus.

The General Authority for Palestinian Arab Refugees (GAPAR) said, in a statement, that during distribution of humanitarian aid on Friday on the people of the camp, the armed terrorist
organizations shot bullets on the center, causing the injury of a citizen who was admitted to one of Damascus hospitals.

The statement added that the GAPAR, supported by the Syrian Government and in cooperation with the United Nations Relief and Worker Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) distributed 386 food packages on the residents of the camp Friday.

The total of food packages distributed, following resuming the distribution process on March 5th, reached 3094 packages.

The number of food packages distributed since January 30th , 2014 in the camp reached 59,124, while Hygiene packages reached 11,618.

The GAPAR pointed out that the medical center, affiliated to the UNRWA and the Palestinian Red Crescent organization, continued treating the patients and offering medicine to them.

It said that 8 patients were evacuated from the camp to be submitted to Damascus hospitals. The number of the cases which was evacuated from the camp since 2014 reached 4,690.

Meanwhile, Anwar Abdul-Hadi, Director of the Political Bureau of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Damascus announced that since the beginning of the current month the distribution of humanitarian aid was resumed in the camp in cooperation with the Syrian government and the UNRWA after the process was halted for
three months as it was hindered by the armed terrorist organizations.
