Chinese President: Reaching a ceasefire in Gaza is a top priority

Beijing, SANA- The top priority regarding the situation in Gaza is to reach a ceasefire, avoid the expansion of conflict and not to lose control or cause a serious humanitarian crisis, Chinese President Xi Jinping said.

“The fundamental way out of the current and recurring conflict lies in establishing the independent state of Palestine,” Xinhua news agency quoted Jinping as saying during a meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly in Beijing on Thursday.

Jinping stressed that China is ready to work with Egypt to protect international justice and the common interests of developing countries, with the aim of establishing more factors of certainty and stability in the region and the world, and reaching a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Palestinian cause at the earliest possible opportunity.

In turn, Madbouly said: “Egypt and the Arab countries thank China for its firm and just position on the Palestinian cause, and look forward to China’s most important role in resolving the current crisis.”
