Damascus, SANA- Information Minister, Butrus Hallaq, said on Wednesday that there are numerous horizons for media cooperation between Syria and Cuba that both confront same challenges and defend their sovereignty against colonial and imperialist projects.
The Minister, who met Director General of Prensa Latina, Luis Enrique Gonzalez, affirmed the importance of the standing cooperation between SANA News Agency and Cuban Prensa Latina, calling for more communication to have an impact on public opinion in the interests of peoples in both states.
Mr. Gonzalez, for his part, said that Prensa Latina has been following the Syrian people during years of war and aggression and it has never stopped covering events in the country, renewing commitment of the News Agency towards the Syrian people and their just cause.
“Prensa Latina has been established to face hostile media campaigns against the Cuban revolution and within conditions similar to the currently media war against the Syrian people,” Mr. Gonzalez said.
He added “We have seen a resilient people in the face of war and blockade.”
