Syrian-Iranian talks on communications and information technology

Tehran, SANA- Communications and Technology Minister. Eng. Iyad al-Khatib discussed with directors of MCI – Mobile Communication Company of Iran means of enhancing joint cooperation in the communication and information technology fields.

This came in the framework of the talks, the Syrian government delegation is holding with the Iranian side for the 4th day in a row and aims at expanding relations in the economic fields, including communications, between the two countries.

During the meeting, Eng. al-Khatib was briefed on the governance systems adopted by the company, network performance monitoring systems, industry applications, electronic platforms, social networking services, and virtual education, in addition to the electronic correspondence provided to its subscribers through applications it produces.

Minister Al-Khatib also toured the Iranian Space Research Center, and got acquainted with the systems, satellites and electronic maps and way to analyze satellite data, pointing out to that the two sides are preparing to draft a memo of understanding between the General Authority for Remote Sensing and the Iranian Space Research Center, to benefit from the Iranian expertise in this field.

The two sides stressed the importance of carrying out the agreements signed in Damascus between the two countries in the space field.
