Syria discusses cooperation in social protection, digital transformation with Iraq, Jordan and ILO

Geneva, SANA- On the sidelines of the 111th session of International Labor Conference held in Geneva, Syria discussed with Iraq, Jordan and International Labor Organization (ILO) means of cooperation in the field of social protection and digital transformation.

That came during a meeting between Assistant Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mohammad Firas Nabhan, the Iraqi Minister of Social Affairs, the Director of Labor Relations at Jordanian Labor Ministry and the ILO Regional-Director for Arab States.

Minister Nabhan discussed with Regional Director of ILO, Ruba Jaradat, fields of training and exchange of expertise to improve the capabilities of workers at the areas of social protection networks and the labor market system in order to achieve digital transformation via accurate data that achieve convergence between social security and labor market.

In turn, Jaradat affirmed the readiness to boost domains of cooperation with the ministry through programs that would serve all parties to production process in Syria.

In the same context and during his meeting with Iraqi minister, Ahmed Jassim al-Asadi and Jordanian Labor Relations Director, Adnan al-Dahamsheh, Minister Nabhan underscored importance of cooperation in terms of organizing affairs related to expatriate workers between Syria and Iraq.

He also underlined the necessity to benefit from the Jordanian experience in the field of digital transformation, as he discussed the foreign labor regulation mechanism between Syria and Jordan.
