Actor Osama Al-Romani ends nearly 50 years of an artistic career

Damascus, SANA-The Syrian drama bid farewell to another of its stars, with the departure of one of the pillars of the Syrian theater, the renowned artist Osama al-Romani, who folded more than half a century of dramatic, theatrical and radio work, leaving works that are still entrenched in the Syrian memory, with characters that varied in form and content.

The body of late actor , who passed away at dawn last Monday, at the age of 81, was escorted from Dar Al-Shifa Hospital in Damascus into his final resting place in a cemetery near Sayyida Zeinab shrine.

Despite his absence for more than forty years from the Syrian drama, Romani left a good impression present in the memory of the companions of Syrian artists who expressed their grief at the loss of one of the few remaining from a time period that immortalized a distinctive imprint in the memory of generations.

The companion of his first creative career and his friend, renowned actor Dureid Lahham, recalled in a statement to SANA the most beautiful moments that they shared together in the theater, through the plays “Ghourba” and “Tishreen Village”, leading to the last two dramatic and cinematic works that he collected after many years, which are “Alive in Love,” and the movie “Two Days”, which he will not be able to attend its showing on the seventh art screens, describing him as an exceptional artist with high morals and loyal to his art and colleagues.
