Interior Minister, UN Assistant Secretary –General for Safety and Security hold talks on bilateral cooperation

Damascus, SANA- The Minister of the Interior Muhammad al-Rahmoun held a meeting Tuesday with UN Assistant Secretary –General for safety and Security Affairs Unaisi Lutu Vuniwaqa to discuss bilateral cooperation and providing support and protection to UN personnel in Syria.

Minister Rahmoun said developing cooperation with international organizations is sustained by providing necessary facilitations to all United Nations humanitarian agencies and organizations in line with Syria’s international commitments, laws and national sovereignty.

He also affirmed that the ministry is keen on offering support and protection to the United Nations staff while performing their tasks in Syria.

The UN Assistant Secretary, for her part, thanked Syria for cooperation and support provided to all humanitarian missions in the country.
