Charity art exhibition featuring works of over 35 artists in Damascus

Damascus, SANA – A charity art exhibition titled “Wishes” was opened on Sunday at the Iraqi Forum in Damascus, featuring paintings, photographs, and sculptures by over 35 artists.

The exhibition’s organizer Nour al-Abras said the proceeds of the event will go to Al-Ihsan Charity which cares for displaced and needy people in Syria, noting that participants include both veteran artists and young graduates.

Among the participants was Assem Zachariya, who presented two paintings featuring the Old City in Damascus, while Mohammad Nazir al-Baroudi participated with three paintings also featuring the Old City.

Young artists Ruba al-Laham participated with a still life painting depicting wilting roses, while Nawwar Tutanji’s participation was a watercolor painting depicting a woman symbolizing hope and optimism.

Artist Mutaz al-Omari participated with three works that focus on the idea of moving past war and destruction, while Ahlam Zara’a presented an acrylic painting depicting nature.
