Beijing, SANA-China called on the United States to fully and immediately lift all unilateral sanctions imposed on the Syrian people and to stop stirring humanitarian crises in a deliberate way.
“The US government should immediately lift unilateral sanctions put on Syria instead of making a political offer for temporary relief,” Xinhua news agency quoted Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin as saying during a press conference on Monday.
The spokesperson added the US has been constantly carrying out military interventions and imposing illegal unilateral sanctions on Syria for years, which exacerbated the crisis in the economy.
He stressed that the unilateral sanctions imposed by the American side directly hinder efforts to rescue the victims of the violent earthquake that struck Syria, which escalated the catastrophe.
