President al-Assad receives Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed: Syrian people appreciate The UAE’s stance

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad received on Sunday Foreign and International Cooperation Minister of the UAE, Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the accompanying delegation to discuss the repercussions and effects of earthquake that hit Syria.

The UAE minister conveyed the condolence of President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to President al-Assad and the Syrian people.

He expressed his sincere condolence to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.

The minister also reiterated his country’s support for Syria during this ordeal, adding his country will continue to provide the assistance required to help the Syrian people overcome the aftermath of the earthquake.

President al-Assad, in turn, thanked the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates for the assistance they are offering to the Syrian people.

The President  said that the UAE was one of the first countries to stand by Syria and sent a large quantity of relief and humanitarian assistance, search and rescue teams.

His Excellency stressed that the Syrian people appreciate the UAE’s satnces and rapid response, which reflect the strength of bilateral relations and ties that bind the two countries, and the humanitarian principles that the brotherly UAE people possess.

President al-Assad conveyed his greetings to the President of the Emirates, and the Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and wished the UAE further progress and prosperity.

Following the meeting with President al-Assad, the Emirati minister visited the areas affected by the earthquake and was briefed on the efforts being exerted by the Emirati rescue teams operating in those areas.
