Syrian- Iraqi talks on enhancing security cooperation

Bagdad, SANA- Minister of Interior Mr. Abdul Amir Al-Shammari discussed on Saturday with the Syrian Ambassador to Iraq Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah the bilateral relations and means to develop cooperation in the security domain.

The two sides discussed enhancing joint coordination and developing bilateral relations, especially in security domains between Syrian Interior ministry and its Iraqi counterpart.

The Syrian Ambassador hailed the efforts exerted by the Iraqi Interior Ministry in enhancing security and stability in various areas in the Iraqi country and its continued work to consolidate relations with the neighboring and the friendly countries to serve the mutual interests.

Al-Dandah told SANA reporter in a statement that the two sides discussed during the meeting the brotherly relations between Syria and Iraq and means to strengthen these relations in all security and economic domains .

Al-Dandah also added that they discussed settling the status of some Syrians, in addition to mechanisms for expanding cooperation in the security field, securing borders, preventing the terrorists movement between Syria and Iraq and exchanging information, in addition to ways of increasing trade cooperation and other issues of mutual concern .
