Syria participates in China International Fair for Trade in Services

Beijing, SANA-  The China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), with the participation of Syria, opened today in the Chinese capital, Beijing.

The commercial and economic attaché at the Syrian Embassy in Beijing, Ziad Zeitoun, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the China International Fair for Trade in Services (the former Beijing International Fair), which is organized annually, is one of the most important fairs in the capital and has turned over its years into one of the largest fairs of goods and services in the world.

Zeitoun added that Syria is participating in the fair with a distinguished pavilion in the section on the countries of the Belt and Road Initiative entitled (Colorful World), after it was absent for several years due to the epidemiological situation in China.

He added that Syria’s invitation and participation this year is gaining importance as it is the first time it participates in it after officially joining the Belt and Road Initiative, pointing out that there is Chinese interest in inviting Syria to the initiative’s activities.

Zeitoun said that the design of the Syrian pavilion was carried out by Syrians through interior designers residing in Syria and was implemented in cooperation between the embassy and the Syrian and Chinese business owners residing in China and between the Organizing Committee of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the Beijing government and the Communist Party Committee.

According to Zeitoun, the Syrian pavilion was distinguished by its design in comparison with the rest of the pavilions of the participating countries.

“We wanted to focus this year on conveying a beautiful image of Syria in a simple way far from complexity. Since today, we have seen a great turnout of visitors to our pavilion. We also seek to promote Syrian goods and products that are constantly popular with the Chinese consumer, in addition to introducing the advantages of investing in Syria, in addition to inviting Chinese bodies that are interested in engaging in the reconstruction in Syria,” Zeitoun said.

The Syrian pavilion in the exhibition includes mosaics, Syrian fabrics, cosmetic products, laurel soap, Damascene rose perfume, olive oil and Syrian sweets. The plastic artist Walid Ali also participated with his most important paintings in the Syrian pavilion.
