Hundreds of Ukrainian military targets destroyed, Russian MoD says

Moscow, SANA- The Russian forces have destroyed 2,203 targets of the Ukrainian military infrastructure since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry announced.

“Yesterday evening, the Russian armed forces carried out intense and precision bombing of Ukrainian military targets and destroyed 61 targets of the Ukrainian military infrastructure, including 22 units of weapons and combat equipment in an underground depot, divisional command posts, 9 ammunition depots and 3 radar stations,” The ministry spokesperson, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said in a statement.

On March 6, the Ukrainian Starokonstantinovo military airfield was disabled with high-precision weapons, he added.

Konashenkov noted that the Russian fighter jets and air defense systems have shot down 10 Ukrainian combat aircraft and helicopters over the past 24 hours.

Konashenkov asserted that three Buk M1 anti-aircraft missile systems and three radar stations of Ukraine were hit by bomber and ground attack aircraft, adding that the Russian missile forces have destroyed Ukraine’s S-300 anti-aircraft missile system.

“Overall, during the operation, 2,203 Ukrainian military infrastructure targets were hit. Among them are 76 command points and communication hubs of Ukraine’s armed forces, 111 S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa air defense weapons systems, as well as 71 radar stations. Some 69 planes were eliminated on the ground and 24 aircraft in the air, [as well as] 778 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 77 multiple launch rocket systems, 279 artillery guns and mortars, 553 military vehicles and 62 drones,” Konashenkov said.

The spokesperson added that the Russian Armed forces have taken control of the settlements of Priyutnoye, Zavitne-Bazhanne, Staromlynovka, Oktyabrskoye and Novomayskoye, and advanced up to 11 kilometers.
