Syrian film “Above Ground” wins Best Director award at Budapest Film Festival

Kiev, SANA- The Syrian documentary film “Above Ground”, by director Somar Agha, won the Best Director award at Budapest Film Festival.

The film’s idea is based on history and humanity in light of the ten-war years on Syria and their impact on the composition of the Syrian society based on tolerance and coexistence over the Syrian land, which witnessed the steadfastness of its people through these years, director Agha told SANA about the film’s message.

“Syria will remain as an identity for the world and humanity, and what is happening nowadays is an important part added to its history” this is the main message of the film, according to the director Agha.

This film was shown for the first time in the public screening that was held this year, as it won the “Audience Award” and two awards from India and many other awards.
