Shenzhen Nanshan Museum displays  Syrian antiquities

Beijing, SANA- Within a touring to a number of Chinese cities, Nanshan Museum in Shenzhen continues receiving its visitors.

The exhibition, opened on August 4th, includes a number of artifacts that were lent to the Chinese side for this purpose upon a signed agreement between the Chinese and Syrian sides and with support by the Syrian Embassy in Beijing and the National Cultural Heritage Administration in China.

The artifacts in this exhibition were brought in from 9 Syrian museums which return back to consecutive historical eras and various geographic areas , representing rich collection of the Syrian heritage and civilization.

The masterpieces were showcased in 4 pavilions  specialized for the successive eras in addition to a special section for displaying the Syrian Chinese historical exchanges on the Silk Road.

“Shenzhen city is vibrant and beautiful , and Nanshan Museum is so modern and important that it can be the first stage to showcase a collection of the Syrian heritage artifacts”, Director of the Nanshan Museums ,Qi Xin ,said in a statement to SANA correspondent in Beijing.

He went on to say that the Syrian civilization is ancient and the capital city of Damascus is well known for every one ,especially  Old Damascus which is worldwide known , referring that Nanshan is the first of its kind to show the Syrian artifacts and antiquities in China and at the same time it is the first to showcase Syria’s history and heritage.

In a similar statement , official  of Cultural and Media Affairs at the Syrian Embassy in Beijing, Fadi Wassouf, said that displaying  Syrian ruins in China is  a significant step in enhancing the cultural exchange between the two countries serving the interests of the two peoples to develop the relations in all domains.

The Exhibition will last  till November 7th before it move to the second station in Jinsha Site Museum Tourist Center in the Chinese province of  Sichuan.
