People’s Assembly discuses performance of Ministry of Economy

Damascus, SANA -People’s Assembly discussed on Thursday the performance of Ministry of Economy and External Trade and issues related to its work.

Minister of Economy, Mohammad Samer al- Khalil, briefed MPs on the work plan of the Ministry, saying that this stage is characterized by the lack of resources, foreign currency and , so that the ministry intensified its efforts to reduce the trade balance deficit and increase exports .

Al-Khalil added that the ministry has four economic programs in the upcoming period, most importantly are investment, supporting price of interests, finding substitutes for import and encouraging micro and medium enterprises.
