Tartous, SANA- Tobacco cultivation in Tartous province is of great importance where many families depend on it as the only source of livelihood, especially in the rural mountain in Qadmous areas, al-Sheykh Badr, Dreikiche and Akkar Plain.

The cultivated area is estimated at about 20,000 dunums, and the number of tobacco farmers exceeds 20,000 in the province.
