Syrian swimmers honored for their distinguished achievements in 2014

Damascus, SANA- The Syrian Arab Swimming and Aquatic Sports Federation on Monday honored members of the Syrian national swimming team in appreciation of their distinguished achievements in 2014.

Swimmer Saleh Mohammad, among others, was honored for ranking second in Parana 88km race in Argentina, wining two bronzes in the 5km and 10 km races in the Asian Beach Games (ABG)in Thailand, in addition to many other achievements.

Chairman of the General Sport Federation, Maj. Gen. Mouafaq Jum’a hailed the important achievements of the Syrian national swimming team in the regional and international championships.

For his part, Chairman of the Swimming Union Firas Mo’alla said that honoring the swimmers is a great motive for them to exert more efforts and to make more achievements.

On the sidelines of the festival, a number of children who are members of the, recently established, National Swimming Center were also honored.
