Tehran, SANA Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council Ali Larijani called upon countries of the region to exert efforts to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria as terrorism constitutes a ‘dilemma’ for all these countries.
“The situation in Syria has improved as positive steps have been adopted forwards, Larijani said in a statement upon his arrival at Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran on Saturday following a tour including Syria, Lebanon and Iraq.
He pointed out that some mass media have exaggerated the image of what is going on in Syria, while there are some areas in which
terrorists are still causing problems there.
Larijani described the rapprochement that has been found among Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Iran as “Very appropriate” for these countries which play a key role in the resistance axis in the region.
The Iranian official stressed that he discussed with officials of these countries means of combating terrorism on the political and security
levels, indicating to the perpetual consultation and coordination among countries of the region in the field of combating terrorism.
Last Monday, Larijani expressed, during his visit to Syria, his country’s support to the efforts exerted to launch a national dialogue among the Syrians which maintains Syria’s sovereignty and unity, far from foreign interference.
