People’s Assembly approves a law on owning undeclared gold

Damascus, SANA- People’s Assembly passed a bill stipulating that persons who own undeclared gold bullions and haven’t paid import fees for it to settle their status by registering it and paying the fees without suffering any legal liability.

The Law aims to settle the legal situation of gold and regulate it, in addition to curbing any suspected cases of illegal gold trade, particularly after the issuing of the legislative decree organizing the process of bringing gold into the country.
The People’s Assembly also referred a bill establishing courts of first instance and appeals courts of in each province to be specialized in lawsuits for removing joint ownership to the judicial insurances of Constitutional Affairs Committee for study.
