Damascus countryside, SANA- Within the framework of the Ministry of Education’s efforts to renovate the schools that have been damaged in attacks launched by terrorist organizations, Damascus Countryside Education Directorate on Tuesday opened Saqba Second Basic Education School, after maintaining the school and repairing all the damages.
During the opening of the school in Saqba city, artistic shows were performed by the students, in addition to a folkloric show by a popular band.
Director of Damascus Countryside Education Directorate Maher Faraj, in a statement to journalists, affirmed the Ministry of Education’s keenness to rebuild and renovate all schools in the countryside which had been subjected to sabotage as a result of attacks launched by terrorist organizations.
Faraj pointed out that the school includes 11 classrooms, 5 administrative rooms and a hall that is equipped as a kindergarten attached to the school, adding that the school will be put into service with the beginning of the second semester.
Supervisor of the educational complex in Eastern Ghouta, Khaled al-Souda, in a statement to SANA, noted that the renovation of the school comes within the plan which aims to put all the schools in the Ghouta into service again.
In turn, Head of the School Buildings Department at Damascus countryside Education Department, Mohammad Khair al-Ali, pointed out that the terrorist organizations had used Saqba Basic Education school previously as a place to detain the kidnapped, but now it has been returned to its main purpose which is education and building generations.
Eng. Bushra Kousa, Supervisor of the Eastern Ghouta schools, said that the school’s renovation is a step in the way of completing the renovation of all schools in the Ghouta to provide the appropriate spatial environment for the educational process.
