Damascus, SANA-Russian President’s special envoy for Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, affirmed on Thursday that participation of 27 countries and organizations in the International Conference on the Return of Refugees stresses its success, pointing out that resolving this humanitarian issue will lead to enhancing stability in Syria.
Lavrentiev added in the concluding session of the Conference that holding the conference in Damascus stresses that Syria is waiting for the return of all refugees abroad after it had found ways and initiatives to solve this issue that will give a momentum to the humanitarian life in Syria.
He noted that there are a lot of hostile policies that hinder the return of refugees, including the occupation of some areas in Syria and theft of its resources in addition to the unilateral Western economic measures imposed on the Syrian people, which requires unifying efforts and work to face these acts and overcome them.
Lavrentiev stressed that Syria and Russia are ready to provide everything that contributes to facilitate the return of refugees again, calling on all countries and the UN to support steps to solve this issue which bears a humanitarian feature which aims to repatriate refugees to their country.
