Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister, Eng. Hussein Arnous, received on Thursday Abkhazian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Daur Vadimovich Kove, and an accompanying delegation.
Talks during the meeting dealt with means of strengthening bilateral relations in various fields to confront current challenges and difficulties and common measures to facilitate the return of refugees to their homeland and enable them to regain their normal lives in addition to the necessity to lift unfair economic sanctions.
The two sides also discussed establishing industrial projects and partnerships that secure needs of markets in the two countries and open horizons for joint cooperation, affirming the need to accelerate forming the Joint Ministerial Committee and the Businessmen Council to activate cooperation in economic, commercial fields and maritime and air transport.
Arnous reaffirmed Syria’s willingness and readiness to develop and strengthen the relations between the two countries and exert efforts to raise them up to the level of the historical ties that connect the two peoples.
He pointed out to the Syrian government’s keenness to develop cooperation in a way that achieves the common interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.
For his part, Abkhaz Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his country’s appreciation for Syria’s stance, people and leadership, in support of his country, affirming the willingness of the Republic of Abkhazia to develop relations with Syria in various fields .
