Prague, SANA- Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek affirmed that the European Union will take additional new measures against the officials of the Turkish regime if Ankara does not stop its unilateral actions in the eastern Mediterranean.
“The European Union does not rule out imposing sanctions on Turkey because of its exploration works in the Mediterranean,” Petricek said in a statement to the Czech Radio on Monday.
He pointed out that the leaders of the European Union member states and governments who will meet in mid-September will adopt new steps against Turkey.
Last Friday, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, announced that the EU was preparing sanctions against the Turkish regime that could be discussed at its next summit next month as a way to respond to its violations in the eastern Mediterranean.
