Harvesting watermelon crops in Sweida province- Photos

Sweida, SANA- Sweida southern province is considered as one of the suitable regions for watermelon cultivation which is planted in the western countryside over 17 percent of the areas allocated for the summer crops.

According to figures by Sweida Agriculture Department, the watermelon cultivation plan is estimated at 1930 dunums, of which 1170 are irrigated and 760 are rainfed.

The Directorate indicated that the process of harvesting the watermelon crops has already started and it continues gradually.

The areas planted with watermelon in Sweida province last year reached 2160 dunums while the production amounted to 6300 tons.
