Extinguishing 16 fires erupted in agricultural lands and green areas in Homs

Homs, SANA – Homs Firefighting brigade and civil defense on Friday have extinguished 16 fires that erupted in several areas in Homs province.

Commander of Homs firefighting brigade Othman Jouda, said in a statement to SANA reporter that fires erupted in agricultural lands in Shoumareya, Sma’alel villages and in trees of Tal Naqah in addition to grasses fires in Homs city and its countryside.

Jouda added that the members of firefighting brigade have immediately dealt with all fires to prevent its extension into other areas due to the wind.

He called upon citizens not throwing cigarettes on the roads or setting fires, stressing the readiness of firefighters to put out any fire.
