Beirut, SANA- Russian Ambassador in Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin said that the U.S. military presence in Syria is illegitimate by all standards, indicating that the U.S. practices are responsible for the escalation in the region.
In a televised statement on Friday, Zasypkin said that Russia stands by the international legitimacy and supports the demands of the countries which call on the foreign forces to leave the region, reiterating that the aim of the presence of the Russian forces in Syria is fighting terrorism and preventing its spreading.
He pointed out that Russia’s future stances head to promote encouraging solutions and restoring security in the Gulf area and the Levant.
