Czech tourism website describes Palmyra City as “Desert Jewel”  

Czech, SANA-  Czech tourism website of Travel Mag has published a report on Palmyra City, indicating that it deserves the title of the “Desert Jewel” because of its unique archeological antiques.

The website talked in its report in details about the most important landmarks of the city, particularly its temples, amphitheater and cemeteries, in addition to its long street and the Great Colonnade, the Camp of Diocletian, the tombs valley and Fakhr-al-Din Castle.

The website said that Palmyra is the “dream of every history lover and every traveler,” adding that despite of the damage inflicted on some of its antiques due to terrorism, their rehabilitation is possible.

Travel Mag website noted that Palmyra is on the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, therefore it is internationally protected.

It added that the archeological city enjoys a very rich history, as it had been a part of the Roman Empire and an independent kingdom, in addition to its location on the Silk Road.
