Patriarch Absi renews call for lifting unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria

Vienna, SANA_ The Patriarch of Antioch and the whole East for Melkite Greek Catholic Yousef al-Absi renewed calls for lifting the unilateral coercive economic measures being imposed on Syria.

Following the mass, he made along with the archbishop of the Austrian city of Salzburg Franz Lackner, al-Absi said that the Syrian people are suffering very much from the unilateral coercive measures, calling for intensifying efforts to influence the West and lift all these sanctions.

Bishop Abssi, who is on a visit to Austria at the invitation of Austria’s Cardinal Christoph Schonborn, also met the Governor of Salzburg District Wilfried Haslauer.
