Russia: Dialogue should be restricted among the Syrians without preconditions

Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Alexander Lukashevich said Thursday that the Syrian Army continues its struggle against terrorists, warning the international coalition, led by the US, against the risk of bombing the sites of ISIS terrorist organization in Syria without coordination with the Syrian government.

In a statement to Journalists , Lukashevich said that the coalition insistence on that will not achieve any success in the war against the armed terrorist groups.

He condemned the announcement of the so-called “Friends of Syria”, during a meeting on October 10th, regarding its approval on the US plan to train and arm the so-called “Moderate Opposition”, and instead of finding ways to coordinate with the Syrian Army, it accuses Damascus of unwillingness to reach a political solution to the crisis in the country.

The Russian official reminded of the European Union’s stance on abstaining from buying the Syrian oil from the government, while it doesn’t apply its decisions on terrorist organizations, like Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS which have control on wells of Syrian oil.

“Russia considers combating terrorism as a priority, so it supports Syria and pushes for the start of a dialogue among the Syrians themselves to find a political solution to the crisis in the country,” Lukashevich said.

He expressed his country’s support to the plan of the UN Special Envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura, affirming that the national dialogue should be restricted among the Syrians, according to Geneva communiqué and without preconditions.
